Health and Safety Protocols

The following health & safety guidelines are based on the current requirements of the City of Porto. SSIB will continue to monitor and adapt these guidelines as as appropriate. We encourage you to monitor this page to stay abreast of the latest updates on health and safety protocols for the 29th Annual Meeting.

International Attendees

International attendees should always check current travel restrictions. We encourage checking the Visit Porto website, before planning your travel, to make sure you will be able to enter Portugal. In addition, please monitor local regulations at home to ensure that you will be able to return from Portugal.


Protective Masks 

Attendees are encouraged to make their own choices in terms of masking whether in public or within the meeting venues. SSIB will follow all local guidelines.

Self Screening 

Are you experiencing any of the following symptoms related to COVID-19?
  • Fever above 100.4° F
  • Coughing
  • Chills
  • Muscle pain/body aches
  • Headache
  • Fatigue
  • Sore throat
  • New loss of the sense of taste or smell
  • Congestion/runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea
If an individual has any of these symptoms and they are not due to a preexisting underlying chronic health condition, SSIB encourages you to attend the meeting virtually.
